In my future middle school English language arts class there is so much potential for the percolating method. I think it would be a fun exercise for my students to use poetry as a source of reflection. Assigning a poem at the beginning of the week then asking my students to reflect and percolate on the deep meanings and how the poem speaks to them. Then at the end of the week we could come together and discuss. There are many options that this opens up.
